Maudie Lee Chadwick, 89, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord at her home with her loving family by her side, on October 24, 2012.
She was born on July 9, 1923 in Grafton, a daughter to the late Willard Coates and Ethel Owens Coates. She graduated in 1942 from Vinson High School in Westmoreland, and was a member of the First Church of God in Point Pleasant. She retired from Pleasant Valley Hospital as a unit secretary and was a member of the Eastern Star #75 (she received her 50 Year Pin) Point Pleasant.
She is preceded in death, besides her parents, by her husband, Bruce Chadwick; son, Herbert Bruce Chadwick Jr.; and one great-grandson, Jacob Oldaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Brucella Wandling of Point Pleasant, Paula and (Rick) Sullivan of Point Pleasant; sisters, Gladys Pack of Kenova, and Regina Ball of Barboursville; brothers, Willard Coates of Point Pleasant, James and (Jean) Coates of Huntington, and Stanley and (Janet) Coates of Proctorville, Ohio; special grandchildren, Cory and (Rachel) Sullivan and Ryan and (Haley) Sullivan, Bruce Harrington and Nicholas Harrington and granddaughter Serena and (Brian) Booth, Vivian and Keith DeWitt and Kaylee and (Jason) Oldaker; great-grandchildren, Dakota Booth, Angel Oldaker, Alex Oldaker, and Madison Oldaker, as well as four step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012, at the First Church of God in Point Pleasant with Pastor Robert Patterson and Carl Swisher officiating. Burial will follow in Dock’s Creek Cemetery, in Kenova. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at the church. There will be an Eastern Star Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by The Eastern Star # 75, Point Pleasant.
