PPHS runners compete at Raising the Bar Invitational

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A clean sweep for the Generals.

Winfeld won both the boys and girls team titles at Capital’s Raising the Bar Invitational Wednesday evening in Kanawha County.

The Generals won the boys competition with a 58 and all seven runners in the top 20. Capital was second with a score of 82, while Ripley was third of 11 teams. Buffalo sophomore Hayden Harrison was first of 133 runners with a time of 17:45.6.

Point Pleasant was one of 12 teams without enough runners for a team score. Hunter White finished 17th to lead the Big Blacks with a time of 19:30.3, while Guy Fisher finished 83rd with a time of 23:38.7. Darrell McBeath was 103rd for PPHS with a time of 25:10.3, while Brandon Hall finished 107th with a time of 25:32.6.

The Lady Generals were first on the girls side with a score of 31 and six runners in the top 15. Charleston Catholic finished second with a score of 84, while Ravenswood was third at 93 of 12 teams. Peyton Panger, a junior from Capital, was champion of the 113 ladies with a time of 20:19.8.

PPHS was one of nine schools without enough runners for a team score. Avery Daughtery was the lone Lady Knight and she finished 106th with a time of 43:24.0.
