POINT PLEASANT — Do you know your magisterial district? Do you know where to vote?
As reported last week, the Mason County Commission has approved voting precincts and magisterial districts in Mason County based on the latest U.S. Census and adjustments mandated by the West Virginia Legislature. Besides voters being aware of any precinct changes, potential candidates should be aware of their magisterial districts (and if they have changed) for filing purposes.
As previously reported, Mason County Clerk Diana Cromley said she and her staff are currently updating their election records to reflect the boundary modifications affecting the county’s precincts made as a result of the 2010 Census and the adjustments mandated by the West Virginia Legislature.
According to Cromley, the following areas may be affected as a result of the boundary adjustments:
Area 1: Roseberry Lane and the westerly end of Parrish Avenue. Both areas being outside of the city limits of Point Pleasant.
Area 2: Across from and adjacent to Village Pizza Inn in Point Pleasant.
Area 3: Route 2 past Krodel Park from Point Pleasant city limits to Jericho Road and Both sides of Jericho Road westerly to Point Pleasant City Limits.
Area 4: Beginning at the north side of Route 2 at a point near Hickory Chapel Church to the Lewis/Cooper District line and areas between including parts of Eckard Chapel Road, Rosetta Lynn Drive, Oshel Road, Ridge Road and Poplar Heights Subdivision.
Area 5: Parts of Bethel Road Country Club Road & Robinson Creek Road.

These voters are encouraged to contact the county clerk’s office (304-675-1997) as soon as possible to ensure they receive their letter in a timely manner.
