Virginia Christine Thomas, 89, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with the Lord on March 2, 2012, at Holzer Medical Center with her family at her side. She was born November 2, 1922, in Mason County, a daughter to the late Phillip E. Long and Lillian F. Mayes Long. She was a home maker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Carl E. Thomas; brothers, Charles Long and Lester Long; and sister, Eunice Forshee.

She is survived by her loving sons, Micheal Thomas and Carroll E. (Rebecca) Thomas both of Point Pleasant; special granddaughter that she raised, Samantha Thomas Bush of Huntington; brother, Frank Long of Point Pleasant; granddaughters, Rachel Denny and Jessica Harbour; three great-grandchildren, and special nieces, Debbie Dellamea and Roxanne Workman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Joe Hammack officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery in Flatrock. Friends may visit the family from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 4 at the funeral home. An online guest book is available at www.dealfh.com.
