Russell Vaughan Moore, 68, of Point Pleasant, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington.

He was born December 22, 1943, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Goffrey D. Moore and Immogene L. (Vaughan) Moore. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam and was retired from the Ohio River Company.

Vaughan is survived by his loving family which includes, his wife, Cheryl J. (Buck) Moore of Point Pleasant; one son, Russell Vaughan Moore, II (Anita) of Gallipolis, Ohio; two daughters, Terri Janey (Scott) of Gallipolis, Ohio, and “adopted” daughter, Nicole Trautman of Point Pleasant; three brothers, Lyle Moore, Gene Moore and Dale Moore, all of Point Pleasant; one sister, Carolyn Sayre of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren, Tiata, Caleb, Noah, Micah and Jonah; nine nieces and nephews, Amy, Austin, Kristy, Alicia, Nicholas, Randie, Phillip, Alexx and Jeffrey; several great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law; Josephine Buck; two sisters-in-law, Linda Moore and Sandy Collier; and a special friend, Cloyd Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with speaker Richie Blain officiating. Burial will follow in the Austin-Hope-McLeod Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry, where military graveside services will be held by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
