Tony B. Rainey, 58, Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 14, 2009.

He was born February 4, 1951, in Mason County; a son to the late Bert Rainey and Cora Louise Yester Rainey of Point Pleasant. He was an Track Foreman for CSX Transportation for 38 years, a member of the BMWE Lower Ohio River Lodge #0499, an Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #23, and a member of the VFW for many years. He also was a membr of the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad in Nelsonville, Ohio.

He preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Roush Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry; mother, Cora “Bootie” Rainey of Point Pleasant; children, Michael S. and (Lisa) Rainey of Hurricane, Laura and (Greg) Grimm of Point Pleasant, and Mandy & (Brian) Stanley of Southside; 11 grandchildren; sisters, Connee Rainey of Point Pleasant, Kitty Rainey of Point Pleasant, and Pat and (Terry) Ross of Gallipolis Ferry; and brother Tim and (Lisa) Rainey of Fraziers Bottom.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 19, at Deal Funeral Home with Rev. William Bud Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow with full military grave side services conducted by the American Legion Post #23 in the Lewis Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
