Dear Editor:

To Mr. Bond, principal, and Mrs. VanMeter, vice principal, faculty and staff of Wahama High School, also students of Wahama High School, I would like to comment on your assembly honoring veterans at your school on Nov. 10, 2000 — “IMPRESSIVE.”

It was an honor to be in the same facility with these brave men and women who serve the United States of America. The program was enjoyable and the participation by the students who spoke were extraordinary. The choir members who sang and the band’s participation — I now know why they are award winning. Mr. and Mrs. Hendricks, you are to be commended.

The student body of Wahama should be recognized for their well-behaved manners, I know Mr. Bond was proud of them as well. The job Mr. Bond did emceeing the event was very professional.

Brent and Amanda Clark’s (Lt. Colonels, Ret.) speeches were wonderful, as well as Commander Ralph Ross’ talk on the flag.

The veterans who were unable to attend this event in their honor were missed. I look forward to seeing them at next years Veterans Day event.

God bless our past, present and future veterans.

Steve Halstead
