A review of activities, fundraisers and donations filled the evening when members of the New Haven Road Angels car club met for their annual Christmas dinner.
Over 80 members and guests attended the event at the New Haven Lutheran Church. The meal was prepared by the women of the church and many door prizes were given away.
President Mark Clark listed the 2015 activities and fundraisers. They included a booth at the March World of Wheels in Huntington, the West Virginia Auto Fair in May at the Mason County Fairgrounds, and a car show in Mason in October.
With the funds raised, the members donated to several organizations and events, including the Wahama scholarship fund, Mason County Fair, West Columbia ballfield, Town of Mason Christmas party, Bend Area C.A.R.E., and Wahama Athletic Boosters.
In addition, members collected coats for the homeless, improved the restroom facilities at the New Haven park, and built several wheelchair ramps for local residents.
The club is planning activities for 2016, including the West Virginia Auto Fair, which has been set for May 13 and 14 at the Mason County Fairgrounds. The event will include a swap meet, car show and car corral.
Anyone interested in joining the Road Angels is invited to attend the meetings, held on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the New Haven Library.
