Point Intermediate chess champs


Students representing Point Pleasant Intermediate School and Mason County recently competed in the West Virginia State Scholastic Chess Championships on March 5. The results from the competition included the K-3 Team taking state runner-up. Also, Nathan Deem, received third place and All-State honors and Brayden Abella, tied for fourth place, both are pictured here.


Pictured is the Point Pleasant Intermediate School K-5 Team which placed as the state runner-up. This team included: Alexandria Adams who tied for second and All-State honors; Ben Deem who tied second. Other top 10 finishers, out of 34 players, included: Emily Bale and Heath Plants, Honorable Mention Gian Abella.
