Point traveling team’s successful season


Members of the Point Pleasant 8U Travel Baseball Team, recently showed off their skills for the Point Pleasant Rotary Club.


Members of the Point Pleasant 8U Travel Baseball Team recently showed their skills during a Point Pleasant Rotary Club meeting.

Coached by Shad Roberts, the Point Pleasant 8U Travel Baseball Team consists of 12 members ages 8 and under. Parents make up the coaching staff and hold fundraisers for the boys to travel and compete in different locations such as, Worthington, Mineral Wells, Athens, South Charleston.

The Point 8U team recently placed second out of 20 teams during the Athens Throwdown Tournament. In many previous tournaments, the team has placed or received recognition for their performance. Currently the Point Pleasant 8U Travel Baseball Team are prepping for a large tournament in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. and plan to hold upcoming playoffs locally in Point Pleasant.

These young boys show team unity, batting and catching skills as well as respect and discipline for the sport.

Point Pleasant Rotary members shared a round of applause for the boys and received a personal handshake from each player, acknowledging the support and words of encouragement.
