Though the new school year starts this week, the Point Pleasant Primary School ended last year with several celebrations, recognizing outstanding staff and students.
The Teacher of the Year was Lori Doeffinger and Service of the Year was Rita Nott. According to Principal Vickie Workman, “Both of these women exemplify character and work ethic and raise the bar for others to strive for and we are very pleased to honor them.”
Fruth Pharmacy, one of the school’s partners in education, was on hand to recognize an exemplary PPPS student who excels in Science. The Inaugural Fruth Pharmacy Science Scholar Award was presented to Caden Davis, a second grade student in Loren Watterson’s class.
Also, there were 10 students recognized for reading the most books in the book worm competition. Those students were Cale Taylor, Maddie Kimble, Ben Supple, Braylee Roush, Brynn Roush, Cadence Sayre, Macey Taylor, Xander Gilbert, Kolby Frum, Wyatt Cheesebrew.
Perfect attendance bicycles were also given to students who had not missed any days the entire year, they were: Gilbert Shepard, Horace Mann representative, was on hand to take part in honoring these students: Carson Finnicum, Kinzy Arbogast, Ava Riffle, and William Sargent.
