POINT PLEASANT — The Paws and Claws Pageant recently held at the West Virginia State Farm Museum benefited the Mason County Animal Shelter.
According to organizers, as a result of the pageant, 1,211 pounds of dog food, 372 pounds of cat food, 160 pounds of kitty litter, 15 blankets, and two bags of toys were donated to the shelter, along with a check for $100 and an additional $225 was put into an account for the shelter to draw from at the Town and Country Veterinary Office in Point Pleasant.
Winners were as follows: Directors Children’s Choice Braylee Adkins; Wee Miss Queen Natalie Akers; Wee Miss First Runner-up and Overall Community Service Winner Harper Holden; Paws of Hope Princess and Wee Miss Photogenic Henley Taylor; Tiny Miss Queen Tasha Wilson; Tiny Miss Photogenic Avery Martin; Tiny Miss First Runner-up Avery Martin; Little Miss Queen Navaeh Ford; Little Miss First Runner-up and Little Miss Photogenic Emmaleigh Wilson; Little Mister King Kazden Seyler; Young Miss Queen and Young Miss Photogenic Ariel Williams; Young Miss First Runner-up Kallie Sharp; Junior Miss Queen Morgan Jarvis; Junior Miss First Runner-up and Junior Miss Photogenic Ashley Wright; Junior Mister King Drake Dent; Teen Miss Queen Danielle Ellison; Teen Miss First Runner-up Kaylee Toler; Miss Queen Kyla Coburn; Miss First Runner-up Brittany Blankenship; Ms. Queen Lori Stump; Ms. First Runner-up Brittany Sayre; Mrs. Queen Mindy McCarty; Miss Paws of Hope Queen and Community Service Winner Jennifer Barnes; Director’s Queens Choice Tori Robinson.
The queen will be helping out at the shelter throughout the year from time to time and will help promote adoption for the animals in the shelter. Helping sponsor the event were Siders Jewelers, The Mason Jar and several other businesses and individuals.
