POINT PLEASANT — Once again, The Family Resource Network, together with other community agencies and individuals, will present the Mason County Family Christmas this Saturday.
The annual event takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the old Central School Gym, located at 1200 Main St., Point Pleasant, next to the Mason County Board of Education offices.
Planned for the event are pictures with Santa, Christmas crafts, face painting and refreshments. Community organization volunteers will be painting faces and other agencies will present craft tables where children can make items to give their parents as gifts or to decorate their Christmas trees at home. The Family Resource Network will provide refreshments for all.
“The Mason County Family Christmas is about the community pulling together to provide a good holiday experience for local children and their families,” Greg Fowler, executive director Family Resource Network said. “Over the past few years, we have created an atmosphere where parents can bring their children and enjoy the event. The event has grown each year and we expect that to be the case again.”
The event is free and open to the public.
What helps the event be so successful is the amount of volunteers who not only help children have a great Christmas experience, but have an opportunity to set up a table to promote their organization and services available to local families.
