‘Ringing with joy’ in New Haven

The Tiger Music Orff Ensemble, under the direction of Kimberly Bond and Rachel Reynolds, was a part of New Haven Elementary School’s “Ringing With Joy” Thursday evening. The program also offered music by the school chorus, as well as a play, “How the Penguins Saved Christmas.”

NEW HAVEN — Music of the holiday season rang out at New Haven Elementary School Thursday as students presented “Ringing With Joy,” a Christmas concert and play.

The evening featured the chorus, conducted by Kimberly Bond, and the Tiger Music Orff Ensemble, conducted by both Bond and Rachel Reynolds.

The chorus presented five musical selections, two of which featured hand bells. Bell ringers on “Carol of the Bells” were Amber Wolfe, Abby Pauley, Hailey Hickel, Riley Hankinson, Jessica Dangerfield, Emma Fisher, Bailee Bumgarner, Adrionna Bennett, Wesley Woolard, Alana Edwards and Mikie Lieving. They were accompanied on the piano by Hailey Darst. Featured on the bells during “Ringing, Ringing” were Amber Wolfe, Paige Berkley, Hailey Darst, Alana Edwards, Bailee Bumgarner, Livi Layne, Chloe Robinson and Kelsyn Spencer.

Bond expressed her appreciation to the New Haven United Methodist Church for loaning the bells to the chorus.

“Ugly Sweater” featured six soloists. They were Adrionna Bennett, Hailey Darst, Livi Layne, Mikie Lieving, Amber Wolfe and Brinna Roush.

To finish the evening, students presented the play “How the Penguins Saved Christmas.” Abby Pauley was featured as the soloist singing “Remember,” while Ethan Goodnite was the soloist for the play’s song “Who Me!”

Play cast members included Amber Wolfe, Adrionna Bennett, Kelsyn Spencer, Hailey Hickel, Hailey Darst, Wesley Woolard, Bailee Bumgarner, Mikie Lieving, Ethan Goodnite, Carson Gibbs, Lillian Bowles, Brinna Roush, Madison Edwards, Livi Layne, Olivia Todd, Loryn Weaver, Haley King, Makayla Horn, and Emma Fisher.
