Mason County Fair Scenes

Around 120 hogs were shown at this year’s Market Hog Show at the Mason County Fair on Monday night. Here, the judge stops to speak with an exhibitor.

“Ooops!” This young man didn’t get along with the contestant paddle meant to identify him to judges at the Little Mr. and Little Miss Mason County Contest.


Judges had a difficult decision picking from this group of young children for the the Little Mister and Little Miss Mason County Contest organized each year by the Point Pleasant Junior Woman’s Club.


These young ladies brave a hot sun during the Little Miss and Little Mister Mason County Contest on Monday.


The crowd starts to pick up as the sun sets and the temperatures cool on the first day of the Mason County Fair.


The midway at the fair includes not only rides but tasty treats and games.


Nothing like a little skee ball at the fair.


The carnival was popular with kids of all ages, including those who like to slide.


There are carnival rides for the smallest to the oldest riders, including those “in between” who like to spin.


These fair goers strap in for some fun.


Despite the heat, the midway stayed busy on Monday with lines for carnival rides like this new addition.


Nothing like a little swinging on a hot summer evening.
