Mason County EMS calls

Mason County EMS was toned out a total of 269 times, Aug. 1-15. Station 100 had 167 calls, Station 200 had 28 calls and Station 500 had 74 calls. These calls included transports as well as emergencies and others.

There were 200 patients taken to the area hospitals which call breaking down as follows: 71 to PVH, 17 to SMH, 11 to CHH, 13 to HMC-G, 1 to HMC-P, 1 to Jackson General, 1 to Riverside Methodist in Columbus, Ohio, 1 to CAMC Teays valley, 1 to CAMC, 1 to Huntington VA, 1 to Camden- Clark, 1 to Marietta Memorial; these include transports as well as emergencies.

All three stations made 69 calls which resulted in not taking a patient to the anywhere – 16 cancelled en route, 28 patients refused care, 1 dead on scene transported and 8 no patient contact, 12 ALS Assists, 2 stand by and 3 Lifting assistance, 16 cancellations.

Out of the 115 emergencies that were transported to an area hospital or to a specialized hospital, EMS had: 35 general medical, 5 abdominal pain, 7 altered mental status, 9 breathing problems, 14 chest pains, 1 cardiac arrest, 7 diabetic emergency, 9 fall victim, 4 overdose, 2 fractured body parts, 2 hypertension, 4 lacerations, 1 poisoning heat exposure, 3 seizures, 7 altered mental status, 3 allergic reaction, 2 psychiatric problem.

ALS transports: 14. BLS transports: 84.

Mason County Sheriff’s Department

The Mason County Sheriff’s Department reports the following arrests: Elizabeth A. Carson, 32, Charleston, DUI third offense, possession of marijuana, arrested by Deputy Waugh. Gregory A. Forbes, 55, Point Pleasant, DUI aggravated first offense, drive left/center, arrested by Deputy Cavender. Levi Campbell, 20, Point Pleasant, harassing or threats by electronic device, domestic battery, arrested by Deputy M. Stewart. David W. McCoy, 38, Henderson, providing alcohol to minor – 36 counts, possession of marijuana, arrested by Deputy Ferrell. Karie L. Goody, 34, Gallipolis, Ohio, DUI, arrested by Deputy Cavender. James S. Potter, II, 37, Gallipoils Ferry, DUI second offense, driving on suspended/revoked, improper registration, arrested by Deputy Veith. Devan A. Brumfield, 24, Ripley, DUI third offense, arrested by Cpt. Peterson. Charles L. Smith, Jr., 43, Point Pleasant, two counts forgery, two counts uttering, arrested by Lt. Greene. Tony D. Sowards, 34, Vinton, Ohio, aggravated DUI first offense, failure to maintain control, obstructing an officer, arrested by Deputy Waugh.

Point Pleasant Police Department

The Point Pleasant Police Department recently released its activity report for the month of July as follows: 53 citations issued; three misdemeanor arrests; two DUI arrests; nine accident reports taken; 21 complaint reports taken. Arrested by PPPD officers and transported to the Western Regional Jail were: George Clark, Jr., driving DUI revoked. Michelle LaDuke, DUI. Ruth Ann Presley, DUI.
