Staff Report

OHIO VALLEY — The Community Foundation of Mason County (MCCF Inc.) is currently accepting applications for grants for the fall cycle of its Community Action Grant program.

The MCCF Inc. applications must be submitted no later than Sept. 30. The MCCF’s Community Action grant application is available online at cfofmc.com, by calling the Foundation office at 304-372-4500, or email info@cfofmc.com.

To be considered for a Community Action Grant, an applicant must be a private, nonprofit organization, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a public institution. Either the applicant or program to be funded must be located in the Foundation’s geographic service area of Mason County. The foundation provides support for capital and equipment projects, program development, and technical assistance, training, and capacity building projects, and, under special circumstances, operating support.

Each year, the Dickens Family Grant Fund provides mini-grants to Mason County Schools in amounts up to $1,000 through the Foundation’s fall Community Grant Program. These grants are available to enhance classroom instruction in the county’s schools. Faculty Senates, groups of teachers and/or individual teachers are eligible to apply. The request needs to describe how the program or project will enhance instruction and enrich the educational experience for Mason County students. Applications must be submitted with approval from the school principal. The Foundation’s Dickens Family Grant Fund application form, which is separate from the MCCF, Inc.’s general Community Grant Program application, is available on the Foundation’s website cfofmc.com.

The foundation’s grant-making guidelines provide more specific information on eligibility and priorities for all types of grants; grant guidelines and application forms are on our website at cfofmc.com or contact the foundation office at 304-372-4500.
