A little rain didn’t stop trick-or-treaters from coming out Thursday night to collect all kinds of goodies across Mason County and at the annual Halloween Community Block Party in Point Pleasant. Organizers of the popular block party didn’t let the rain ruin a good time and secured the Trinity UM Christian Community Building as a backup location. Word spread fast and the crowds packed the party that was moved indoors this year - a party that remains free to all, thanks to generous donations by the community and an army of volunteers. Pictured are Trevor Hunt who found Waldo, aka Mark Kincaid, in the massive crowd which included Matthew Kincaid in the foreground, aka, Darth Vader. Getting some candy is “Inmate” Richard Rainey who has a day job with the Mason County Sheriff’s Department - Rainey is being escort by this young officer, his grandson Trevor Schultz. In addition to free candy, popcorn, pop, hot dogs, books and rounds on the bouncy houses, kids took their turns at the many free games to win prizes. In addition, the block party’s first Zombie Walk and zombie judging contest took place thanks to WBYG. Before the block party, zombies were first lured to the Mason County Courthouse to pay a fine of unlawful felony “undeadness.” More photos from Thursday’s party can be found on the Point Pleasant Register’s Facebook page.
