“I always say to students, give me four pages a day, every day. That’s three or four hundred thousand words a year. Most of that will be bilge, but the rest …? It will save your life!” So said Author Ray Bradbury who seventh graders at Point Pleasant Junior High School are currently reading. These students are undertaking the creative chore of turning Bradbury’s stories into newspaper articles. This week, students and their teachers invited staff with the Point Pleasant Register to discuss just how to do this with some interesting questions about life as a journalist thrown in for good measure. Pictured is a before and after photo of a room full of writers - some on their way to their next class, others on their way to a best seller? Stranger things have happened and the best strangeness of all often finds itself onto the page of a great story.
