The day after Christmas usually contains its fair share of messes which aren’t always contained to trash bags full of wrapping paper and discarded boxes. On Thursday at Point Pleasant Riverfront Park, the Ohio River once again left a mess of mud, trash and debris after the water crested on Christmas Eve at 36.31 feet, according to the National Weather Service out of Charleston. Flood stage in Point Pleasant is 40 feet. The high water did not affect the new Christmas light display at the park which is open at dark from now until Jan. 1, 2014. Pictured is the bottom of the amphitheater covered in mud and a section of the handicapped accessible ramp which was a catchall for debris.
