Scientifically speaking

The county science fair has produced some interesting hypotheses this week. Pictured are scenes from this week’s elementary school competition at the National Guard Armory. Levi Wright, a fifth-grader from Beale Elementary, explained his project, “Can You Feel Me Now” about sensory responses, to Judge Andrea Hesson from Ohio Valley Bank. Wright’s project came in second in his division. Also pictured, Ally Harper and Mark Kincaid, sixth-graders at Roosevelt Elementary who were the “Flavor Team” and did a project titled “Flavor Flavor. What’s your flavor?” The project compared store-bought chewing gum to homemade chewing gum and asked which would last longer? Harper and Kincaid took home first place in the team division for the entire county.
