MASON — Local credit and debit cards may have been compromised at a Mason restaurant, according to the Mason Police Department in conjunction with the Mason County Prosecutor’s Office.


Both the police department and prosecutor’s office have issued a warning and joint statement to citizens who paid for services at the Peking Buffet in the Walmart Plaza in Mason. The warning/statement is as follows:


“It appears that credit and debit cards used at Peking Buffet in the Walmart Plaza, in Mason, Mason County, W.Va., during the beginning to middle of February 2014, may have been compromised. Consumers who used a credit and/or debit card at this location during this time frame are advised to check their statements for suspicious activity and are further advised to contact their credit card company or bank if suspicious activity is found.”
