APPLE GROVE — Tuesday morning was busy for law enforcement and first responders with not only the crash involving a school bus on U.S. 35 but an accident on Jerry’s Run Rd. which injured three people, both basically happening at the same time.
According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department, Mason County 911 received a call around 8 a.m. about the Jerry’s Run Rd. accident which involved two cars and four people, with three of them receiving injuries and one being flown from the scene by air medical helicopter.
Dale Lee Henry, 58, Apple Grove, was driving a 1990 Ford Tempo. Cathy Hesson, 56, Apple Grove, was driving a Buick Rendezvous with her daughter Christina Luckeydoo, 34, Apple Grove and an unidentified juvenile as passengers.
These two vehicles were involved in the crash though Mason County Sheriff’s Department personnel are still investigating just what happened and who, if anyone, is at fault. Henry did require extrication from his vehicle by personnel with the Valley Fire Department and was transported from the scene by air medical personnel with HealthNet to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Henry’s condition was listed as fair as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department.
Hesson and Luckeydoo were also injured and were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center by Cabell County EMS which was offering mutual aid to Mason County EMS already on the scene of the U.S. 35 crash.
Jerry’s Run Rd. was closed for about an hour after the accident occurred and then later reopened.
