POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant Police Department recovered a suspect vehicle Thursday evening matching the description of a truck that was reportedly observed at a burglary in Gallia County on Thursday afternoon.

Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning reported late on Thursday evening that Point Pleasant police officers located a suspect vehicle in a parking lot within Point Pleasant following the report of a burglary on Keeler Road in Addison Township, Gallia County. Deputies were dispatched the reported burglary at approximately 4 p.m.

The vehicle has been impounded, according to Browning, and an investigation is continuing. The names of any possible suspects have not been released, but Browning reported that the string of burglaries that have plagued residents of Gallia County this summer are not connected with any particular person or group of suspects.

“Unfortunately, these burglaries are not linked to one group of people,” Browning said. “We need more deputies to help investigate these crimes. We try to investigate these incidents as they occur.”

Further information on this case will be released as it is made available.

Individuals who may have information as to any possible criminal activity in Gallia County can contact the sheriff’s office via their tip line at (740) 446-6555.
