POINT PLEASANT — At the most recent meeting of the Mason County Board of Education, board members approved a personal protective equipment (PPE) policy.
According to the policy, the board is requiring “all employees use appropriate personal protective equipment as required by particular job function, and complete training in the usage, maintenance, and applicability of protective equipment.” PPE includes items such as safety shoes, safety glasses, and respirators, and according to the policy, such items will be provided to the employees at no charge.
It was also noted that the provided PPE is not a substitute for proper work practices, but will be used to help ensure staff safety and health.
