POINT PLEASANT — At the most recent meeting of the Mason County Board of Education, board members approved the following agenda and personnel items.

Approved Minutes, Agenda #12-17, November 27, 2012. Approved volunteers from Beale Elementary, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, and Roosevelt Elementary for the 2012-13 school year. Approved Andrea Henderson, JoAnn Thomas, Joyce Banks, Janice Crump, Lisa Gardner, and Special Needs Students, to travel to Cincinnati, OH, March 26 & 27, 2013. No Funds Required. Approved Howard Barr, Vanessa Harper, Ashely Ord, and Letha Rice, as approved drivers for the 2012-13 school year. Their driving records have been approved by the WV Department of Motor Vehicles and the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Approved the transfer of Angela Roach, Grade Four Teacher, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, to Grade Six Teacher, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, Job #218-418-P, effective 2013-14 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Jennifer Hawkins, Clinical Instructor of Nursing, MCCC, Job #701-111-V, on an as needed basis for the 2012-13 school year, effective December 13, 2012. County will be the funding source. A

Approved the employment of Tod Faller, Tad Greathouse, Barry Hamm, and Kelly Ratliff, as Substitute Teachers (pending WVDE Certification and CIB Clearance) for the 2012-13 school year. Ratified the action of the Superintendent to suspend employee #ECO-2012/13-04, Teacher, three days without pay from December 21, 2012 through January 1, 2013, on the grounds contained in the Superintendent’s letter.

Approved the transfer of Beth Gay, Cook, Point Pleasant Intermediate School, to Cook, Ashton Elementary, Job #216-208-C, effective December 13, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Freda Meaige, Cook, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, to Cook, Roosevelt Elementary, Job #213-508-C, effective December13, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the transfer of Rebecca Porter, Cook, Roosevelt Elementary (currently filling a Medical Leave of Absence) to Cook, New Haven Elementary, Job 210-358-C, effective December 13, 2012. County will be the funding source.

Approved the transfer of Teresa VanMeter, Aide, Central Office Itinerant, to Aide, Central Office Itinerant, Job #001-056-I, effective December 13, 2012. Special Education will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Shawn Rhodes, Custodian (200 days), Hannan Jr/Sr High School, Job #501-609-C, effective December 13, 2012. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Herman Buttrick, Worthy Leach, and David Lloyd, as Substitute Maintenance for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved to post the position of Supplemental Service Personnel Trainer/Examiner, Teacher’s Aide Classes for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. A

Approved the employment of Cherry Weikle, Homebound Teacher, Central Office Itinerant, on an as needed basis, Job #001-045-I, effective 2012-13 school year. Special Education will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Alissa Reymond, Girls Assistant Varsity Softball Coach, Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, Job #502-127-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Troy Stewart, Girls Jr High Softball Coach (pending WVDE and WVSSAC Certification), Wahama Jr/Sr High, Job #503-224-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source.

Approved the employment of Matthew VanMeter, Girls Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach (pending WVDE and WVSSAC Certification), Wahama Jr/Sr High, Job #503-213-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source. Approved the employment of Matthew VanMeter, Jr High Girls Assistant Softball Coach (pending WVDE and WVSSAC Certification), Wahama Jr/Sr High, Job #503-225-S, for the 2012-13 school year. County will be the funding source.

Approved Rick Handley and John Cochran as Athletic Assistants (Pending WVDE and WVSSAC Certification) Point Pleasant Jr/Sr High, Job #502-161-S, for the 2012-13 school year. This is an unpaid position. Approved Jeremy Turner, Athletic Assistant (pending WVDE and WVSSAC Certification), Hannan Jr/Sr High, Job 501-024-S, for the 2012-13 school year. This is an unpaid position.

Approved the lowest submitted bid of $8,324.00, from Colonial Food Service Company, to purchase a Vulcan brand double-convection oven, for Ashton Elementary School. Supplemental Grant of State Aid from the Office of Child Nutrition will be the funding source. Approved the ratification of orders issued, transfers, and supplements. Check Numbers 82042 through 82205, totaling $604,321.76.
