The Scholarship Selection Committee will base the awards on financial need.

The foundation is named for Robert and Louise Claflin. Even though the Claflin couple is no longer living, they made their wishes of helping graduating high school students attend college known with the establishment of a foundation that provides scholarships to individuals to pursue their dreams of attending college. This 2013 graduating class will be the fourth cyclical recipients of the award.
