Elizabeth Anne Nibert (Liz), 64, of Bordentown, N.J., formerly of Point Pleasant, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 10, 2013, while in Atlanta, Ga., on business for Educational Testing Service.

Elizabeth was born on December 2, 1948, to Bernard E. Burcham and the late Mary M. Burcham at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington. She was a devoted servant to education beginning her career in Mason County as a first Grade Teacher at Ordnance Elementary. She also served Mason County as Principal at Leon Elementary, Mount Flower Elementary, and Mason Elementary. She then worked at the Mason County Board of Education office as Director of Federal Programs until retirement. For the past 11 years, Elizabeth has worked with a close group of colleagues at Educational Testing Service of Princeton, New Jersey as Assessment Director over Assessment Development of Teacher Licensure.

Elizabeth was a past Worthy Matron of Point Pleasant Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa education sorority.

Elizabeth is survived by a companion, Dan Goldner; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Christopher and Angie Nibert and Andrew Nibert, all of Ashton; three grandchildren, Casey Nibert, Logan Nibert, and Chelci Canterbury; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Linda and Greg Nelson of Scott Depot and Berna and David Darby of Eleanor; nephews, Jared Nelson, Jonathon Nelson, and Joel Hilbert; niece, Andrea Rogers.

Elizabeth’s life will be remembered at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Deal Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. James Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
