Lady Falcons top Hannan

MASON, W.Va. —Now that’s a Senior Night to remember.

The Wahama volleyball team snapped a 12-match losing streak and also sent seniors Katlin Clarke, Amber Pauley and Lacy Varian out in style Thursday night with a 25-17, 25-13, 21-25, 25-19 victory over Hannan in a non-conference matchup between Mason County programs.

The host Lady Falcons (3-18) claimed a season sweep of the Lady ‘Cats (6-19) with the home finale triumph. WHS also beat Hannan (2-0) during the Mothman Tournament at Point Pleasant High School on Sept. 17. HHS has now lost nine straight matches after defeating Poca in five games back on Oct. 4.

Jasmine Wiese led Hannan with eight service points, followed by Heather Ellis, Samantha Blain and Katie Ellis with seven service points each. Jazi Casto added five points, Tosha Stover had two points and Tiffany Adkins rounded things out with one point.

Blain led the hosts with four aces, followed by Heather Ellis and Katie Ellis with three aces and two aces, respectively. Casto also had one ace in the setback.

Heather Ellis had both kills for Hannan, while Katie Ellis had both assists. Casto and Heather Ellis respectively lead the defense with eight digs and seven digs.

No statistical information was available on Wahama at presstime.
