SOUTHSIDE — A crash between a pickup and two tractor trailers resulted in the death of a Columbus, Ohio man on Friday along U.S. 35 in Southside.
William Fontaine (age unreported) reportedly died of his injuries from the crash.
According to law enforcement, Fontaine was going southbound in a Dodge Ram when it crossed the center line, putting it directly into the path of two tractor trailers. Fontaine’s pickup reportedly hit the tires of the first tractor trailer but hit the second one head on.
According to other media outlets, the drivers of the tractor trailers survived without injuries.
Route 35 was closed for nearly four hours on Friday as crews worked to clear the accident scene.
