2012 Little Mister and Miss named

POINT PLEASANT — The 51st Annual Mason County Fair is underway and a new Little Mister and Miss have been named.

A total of 22 contestants competing for Little Miss and four contestants competing for Little Mister each stepped out onto the stage to present themselves to the judges and taking home the titles of Little Mister and Little Miss were Nathan Wood of Point Pleasant and Jaidyn Patrick of Gallipolis Ferry, respectively. Wood is the son of Roger and Heidi Wood and Gera Pumphrey and Patrick is the daughter of Jamie and Missy Patrick of Gallipolis Ferry.

Also named were the first and second runner-up in each competition. Named first runner-up for Little Mister was Rhett Grady, son of Jack and Amy Grady of Leon. Named second runner-up for Little Mister was Gage Williamson, son of Ronnie and Mandy Williamson of Point Pleasant.

Named first runner up for Little Miss was Addyson Stein, daughter of R.F. and Aimee Stein of Gallipolis Ferry. Named second runner-up for Little Miss was Reece Barnitz, daughter of Tracy and John Barnitz of Point Pleasant.

Serving as emcee was 2012 Regatta Queen Makennah Lewis, who asked each contestant several questions such as their favorite food, their favorite toys, and their favorite aspect of the fair. Several contestants also performed songs and jokes to entertain the crowd. Also making an appearance was 2011 Little Mister Corbin Blain and 2011 Little Miss Kendall Haynie. Both Blain and Haynie shared their respective experiences and their favorite memories of their reigns as Little Mister and Little Miss.

For being named Little Mister, Wood received a sash, a trophy donated by Trophy King, flowers donated from Fruth Pharmacy, and a complimentary photo donated by Putney Photography.

For being named Little Miss, Patrick received a sash, a crown donated by Sider’s Jeweler’s, flowers donated from Fruth Pharmacy, and a complimentary photo donated by Putney Photography.

The first and second runner-up for each title received rosettes, and each contestant competing also received a participation ribbon.
