The City of Point Pleasant, along with the Shawnee Nation, hosted a Traditional Shawnee Gathering on Saturday at Krodel Park to celebrate Native American culture and history. A large crowd turned out for the first event of its kind which included ceremonial dancing and music. Pictured are dancers performing to the beat of the drum circle - drums were an integral part of many tribal ceremonies and celebrations. In addition, reenactor Dan Culter spoke as Chief Cornstalk and there were educational crafts for kids.
