GALLIPOLIS — A successful campaign to pass two necessary liquor licenses in Gallipolis precinct 5 last March paved the way for the ongoing construction of a new Buffalo Wild Wings Bar & Grill at the site of the old Ponderosa on Eastern Avenue in Gallipolis.
According to business partner Randy Breech of JBRB Properties, LLC, approximately 80 full- and part-time jobs will be created as a result of the venture with partner Jim Blair.
The passage of D-5 and D-6 liquor permits will allow the restaurant to serve alcohol by the glass seven days a week, Breech said. Securing those permits was a requirement of the Buffalo Wild Wings national franchise.
Breech reported that the construction of the new 6,600-square-foot facility that will house the sports bar is only slightly behind schedule.
“We had anticipated opening in mid-October, but as it stands now, it will likely be the last week of October,” said Breech.
He said the slight delay was a result of safety measures taken over the summer to protect construction workers from heat-related illness.
