POINT PLEASANT — A professor from Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Alzheimer’s Education Event.

The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at New Hope Bible Baptist Church on Robinson Street in the Bellemead area of Point Pleasant.

Shirley Neitch, MD, FACP and of Marshall University, will be the keynote speaker with a speech entitled “The Sandwich Generation: A Survival Guide for Caregivers of Dementia Patients.”

Neitch will be joined at the event by the following speakers:

Dr. Agnes Simon, MD, speaking on “What is Alzheimer’s? Signs and Symptoms.”

Amy Ernst, training specials from the Alzheimer Association speaking on “After the Diagnosis, What Do I Do Now?”

Anna Music, LSW, social worker with Mason County Action Group, speaking on “Medical/Gen. POS, Living Will, Options, Care, Resources.”

Wendy Hamilton of the Alzheimer Association speaking on “Communication with Your Alzheimer’s Patient.”

Malory Mount, clinical dietitian with Holzer Medical Center, speaking on “How Important is Nutrition for the Alzheimer’s Patient?”
