POINT PLEASANT — The concert for this week’s Mayor’s Night Out is not only still free but still in “West-By-West-By-West-By-God Virginia” - just ask Paul Doeffinger.
Doeffinger, will be performing the free show from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday, July 20 at the Riverfront Park.
Doeffinger just performed this weekend at Sweatstock alongside the new band Tweed Jacket with his son Brett. Doeffinger will also be performing at the Mason County Fair on Aug. 8.with Bunkhammer and the Dub V’s.
However, this Friday, it will be Doeffinger in a solo show, doing what he does best - sitting on a stool, picking a few strings, singing a song or two and telling tales about how they came to land on his guitar. Doeffinger sings original songs like the popular “River Song” as well as remixes of classics like “Shakin” by Eddie Money and a certain Jimmy Buffett song which remains near and dear to several lonely hearts. Armed with just a guitar and a cheer for a “team drink” (or two), Doeffinger is sure to have the crowd in a good mood along the riverfront on Friday.
The free concerts for Mayor’s Night Out continue throughout the summer and include: July 27, Two River Junction (classic country and rock). August 3, Rock of Ages (contemporary gospel); Aug. 17, Blue Z Band (county rock and blues); Aug. 24, Bill Hawks (county, rock and mix); Aug. 31, South of the River Band (country, southern rock, original).
All shows start at 8 p.m. at the Riverfront Park amphitheatre. Concessions and refreshments are available.
