POINT PLEASANT — Eight local yards and on business were recently recognized by the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden club as a “Yard of the Month” and the “Business in Bloom” for the month of June.
Winning “Yard of the Month” in ward one was Butch and Diane Bonecutter at 913 1st Street. Winning in ward two was Robert and Becky McMillian at 809 Main Street. Winning in ward three was Jeff and Jenny Clendenin at 1512 Kanawha Street. Winning in ward four was Martin and Michelle Woodall at 2213 Jackson Avenue. Winning in ward five was Dayonez Keister at 2509 Mt Vernon Avenue. Winning in ward six was Dorothy Harper at 2612 Garfield Avenue. Winning in ward seven was Janie Burris at 504 Parrish Avenue. Winning in ward eight was Patricia Donahew at 2902 Spruce Avenue. Winning “Business in Bloom” was Four Seasons Florist at 504 Main Street.
It was also reported that each month, the eight winners are entered into a drawing, and the winner from the drawing receives a $25 gift certificate to Bob’s Market from the Tu-Endie-Wei Garden Club. The winner of the gift certificate for the month of June was Dayonez Keister from ward five.
The next judging for “Yard of the Month” and “Business in Bloom” will be held the last week in June. Concerning judging criteria, the only reported guideline is that artificial plants or flowers will disqualify the yard or business.
