POINT PLEASANT — This year’s market lamb show was nearly a repeat of last year’s results with Kaitlyn Dunn and Katherine Deem taking home the top awards.
Dunn took home the banner for grand champion lamb while Deem took home the banner for reserve champion lamb. Last year was reversed with Deem showing the grand champion and Dunn showing the reserve champion lamb.
According to Deem’s mother, Missy, both girls are good friends and raise their lambs together. Needless to say, the dynamic duo couldn’t be happier with their wins.
Showmanship skills were also recognized during the lamb show. In the senior division, Haley Sturgeon took first place, Alexis Meadows came in second and Shayla Wears came in third place. In the junior showmanship division, Emma Rice took home first place, Kelsey Byus came in second and Mikenzie Warth came in third place.
Emma Rice also received the prize for born and raised lamb.
There were 46 lambs shown in this week’s show.
