The PPHS Black Knight Band was recently presented a check from the Robert and Louise Claflin Foundation. This funding was used to purchase lighting, keyboards, amplification, and a drum shield. These instruments are to be used for performances with the marching band, jazz ensemble, solo and ensemble and especially the Black Knight Revue. POINT PLEASANT — The Point Pleasant High School (PPHS) Band was recently presented a check from Robert and Louise Claflin Foundation by Stephen Littlepage of the Hyer and Littlepage legal firm and administrator of the Claflin Foundation.

The Claflin Foundation has supported the PPHS Band with funding for the past several years and the foundation has been key in a program to update and replace school owned instruments. The funding this year was used to purchase lighting, keyboards, amplification, and a drum shield. These instruments are to be used for performances with the marching band, jazz ensemble, solo and ensemble and especially the Black Knight Revue. The Revue which is in its 44th year was held in March of this year.

The PPHS Band and Booster Organization would like to acknowledge the Claflins and Steven Littlepage for their continued support and would like to encourage everyone to attend future Black Knight Revues to hear and see for themselves the investment the Claflins have made in the community.

The PPHS Bands are under the direction of Jeff Hilbert and Ben Loudin and Maria Eshenaur is the grant writer for the organization.

The Robert and Lousie Claflin Foundation was established in 2009 for the purpose of providing financial support to projects, groups, and citizens of Mason County. It is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization created for charitable purposes. Robert and Louise Claflin resided in New Haven and Mrs. Claflin was a native of Mason County.
