GALLIPOLIS FERRY — A four-alarm fire early Sunday morning destroyed a home in Gallipolis Ferry.

Firefighters with the Point Pleasant, Valley, Flatrock and Gallipolis, Ohio fire departments were called to the scene at 40 Briar Lane, home of Pansy Spencer, according PPVFD Chief Jeremy Bryant. Bryant said the departments spent several hours on the scene of the fully involved structure fire just getting it under control.

Bryant said the house is not livable and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Spencer was not home at the time of the fire.
