MASON COUNTY — A semi-truck has overturned near the Buffalo Bridge in Putnam County on US 35. This had initially caused the closure of US 35, WV 817 and WV 62. However, these routes have now been reopened to local traffic only - no commercial traffic such as semi-trucks. Locals can now traverse these roads but cannot travel out of Mason County, according to the latest update from the office of Mason County Emergency Management.
This closure could last several hours into the evening.
Detours are WV 2 to Ravenswood/Ripley and WV 2 to Huntington.
Mason County EMA is urging folks on Twitter and Facebook to find and follow wv511 and wvdot. They will update the social medial outlets when the roads are open. Continue to check back to the Point Pleasant Register’s website for the latest updates.
