Two siblings came out on top at Monday’s Mason County Fair Hog Show. Also pictured, Miss 4-H Amanda King, Young Miss 4-H Sarah Deem. Karlee is also Junior Miss 4-H and won first place in the senior division for showmanship at this year’s hog show.
POINT PLEASANT — Out of nearly 100 hogs, the top two were shown by siblings Logan and Karlee Edmonds who took home grand and reserve market champion awards, respectively, at Monday’s Mason County Fair Hog Show.
It was also a good day for Karlee who took home a first place ribbon for showmanship in the senior division. Also receiving showmanship awards in the senior division were Dalton Dangerfield, second place, and Jeremy Tate, third place.
Taking home awards in the junior showmanship division were Keaton Thompson, first place, Skyler Nance, second place and Jayvin Roush, third place.
The award for Born and Raised Hog went to Amanda Chesson. The Brittany Shirley Award went to Bailey Tolliver who showed the eighth place hog.
The hog show is the first livestock show of the year on the fairgrounds and still the most popular in terms of the number of entries. The show started around 5 p.m. and ended at nearly 9 p.m.
All 97 hogs will be sold at Friday’s junior livestock sale which begins at 1 p.m.
