Grant helps emergency services prepare for worst

POINT PLEASANT — Sometimes an important project just needs a little extra help to be completed.This is where the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation, specifically its funds from the Gordon C. and Mildred R. Jackson Foundation, come into play, according to Mario Liberatore.Liberatore, representing both the Jackson Foundation and Community Foundation, recently presented Mason County Emergency Services with a grant check for $5,000.According to R.C. Faulk, deputy director of Mason County 911 and the office of emergency services, the grant money helped purchase digital console tables for an upgrade of its emergency operations center located within the 911 center which also doubles as a classroom for training.
