CENTENARY, Ohio — The rare and dreaded tiebreaker in cross country.

Both Fairland and Rock Hill had five boys finish in the top-20 overall, but FHS also had a sixth runner in the same category — which allowed the Dragons to win the 2015 Skyline Bowling Invitational championship Tuesday night at Gallia Academy High School in Gallia County.

With 99 competitors and 10 schools represented, both Fairland and the Redmen dominated the boys competition by putting 11 of the top 20 times in the books — which led to a 54-all tie after the normal five-man scoring system.

FHS, however, received a 19th place effort from Zack Kincaid (19:49) as the sixth time, while Tim Secoy (19:58) posted the sixth-best RHHS finish by placing 23rd overall.

Seth Miller (16:44) and Brendon McCormick (17:27) of Rock Hill finished first and second overall in the boys race.

Gallia Academy was third overall with 72 points, followed by Meigs (96) and Charleston Catholic (117) in the top five. Huntington (142), Point Pleasant (213) and Wellston (218) rounded out the eight-team field.

Kaleb Crisenberry led GAHS with a third place finish of 17:50, followed by Kyle Greenlee (17:58) and Caleb Greenlee (18:31) with respective placings of fifth and eighth. Devon Barnes was also 28th overall with a mark of 20:09.

Kobe Cochrane (20:31) wrapped up the Blue Devil tally by finishing 33rd, while Tanner Allen (20:40) and Ezra Blain (21:31) also placed 34th and 44th.

Jacob Swindell led the Marauders with a fourth place effort of 17:51, followed by James Parsons (18:45) and Cole Betzing (19:40) with respective finishes of 10th and 16th. Dillon Mahr (20:21) was also 30th for the Maroon and Gold.

Tyler Fields (21:31) rounded out the MHS team score by finishing 43rd. Brad Logan (22:25) and Joseph Cotterill (23:23) also placed 53rd and 62nd for the Marauders.

Hunter White led PPHS with a 15th place effort of 19:31, followed by Brandon Henderson (23:45) and Tanner Durst (25:33) with respective finishes of 66th and 85th. Wyatt Dean was also 87th overall with a mark of 26:45.

Brandon Hall (27:37) wrapped up the Black Knights’ tally by placing 91st, while Bradley Gibbs (29:29) and Byron Fisher (30:33) also finished 96th and 98th.

Joseph Ehman was the lone participant for the Rebels, placing 89th overall with a time of 27:08.
