MASON, W.Va. — Another four-game night, only not near as fun the second time around.

After picking up its first league victory of the season just 24 hours earlier, the Wahama volleyball team wasn’t quite as fortunate Thursday night following a 25-12, 25-12, 25-27, 25-13 setback to visiting Federal Hocking in a Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division match-up in Mason County.

The Lady Falcons (2-4, 1-4 TVC Hocking) — who defeated Miller by a 19-25, 26-24, 25-19, 25-22 count Wednesday night — found themselves in a quick 2-0 match deficit, but the hosts responded by rallying back in Game 3 after trailing 10-6 early on.

WHS managed to claim a 24-22 lead in that third contest, but the Lady Lancers answered with three consecutive points for a 25-24 edge. Wahama, however, shrugged off match point to knot things at 25-all, then scored the next two points to force a fourth game.

FHHS, however, broke away from an eight-all tie by scoring 17 of the final 22 points en route to the 3-1 match decision.

Madison VanMeter and Olivia Hill led the Lady Falcons with seven service points apiece, followed by Emmalee Broyles and Molly Fisher with four points each. Rebekah Roach also had three service points the setback.

Elizabeth Mullins and Taylor Warden netted two service points each, while Maddy VanMatre wrapped things up for the hosts with one point.

McKenzie Steele and Paige Watkins led the Lady Lancers with 13 service points apiece, followed by Audrey Blake with 12 points and Brittnie Jackson with eight service points.

No other statistical information was available at press time.

Wahama returns to action Monday when it travels to Tuppers Plains for a TVC Hocking contest against Eastern at 6 p.m.
