POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Not a bad way to spend a Tuesday night.

The offensive barrage continued when Jacob Barss netted a goal of his own in the 24th minute. PPHS sophomore Austin Adams scored added a few goals in the 25th and 35th minutes respectively to give the Black Knights the 4-0 lead going into halftime. Point Pleasant had a 14 shots on goal in the first half alone, while Belpre only had three.

While the Golden Eagle defense tightened up in the second half, the Black Knights added on to the their lead. Tyler Hill netted a goal in the 7th minute, while Alex Lenkov got a goal in the 12th minute to seal the deal for the home team.

PPHS led with 34 shots — 26 being on goal — while Belpre finished with nine shots — six of them being on goal. Walker had six saves for the Black Knights, while the Golden Eagles managed to get 20 saves. Both squads had seven corner kicks.

“It was a good win,” Point Pleasant coach Keith Hill said. “We’re getting better every game, but we’re still playing to our competition’s level sometimes. It’s up and down, but, overall, we’re having a good season.”

This was the Black Knights’ second win over the Golden Eagles during the 2015 campaign. Point took the first match on Sept. 1 7-0 in Belpre.

Point Pleasant hosts its final home game of the season against the Hurricane Redskins on Tuesday. Match time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
