Gibbs named Class AAA honorable mention

CLARKSBURG – The West Virginia Sports Writers Association has released the 2016 Class AAA All-State Boys Basketball Team, which includes one player from Mason County.

Point Pleasant 6-5 senior Bradley Gibbs was named all-state honorable mention after averaging a team-best 13.4 points per game for the 4-19 Big Blacks this winter. Gibbs also pulled in 3.9 rebounds per game for the Red, Black and White.

Huntington senior Tavian Dunn-Martin — who is signed to play for the Akron Zips next season — was named first team captain and averaged 21 points and 4 assists per game for the Highlanders. Morgantown senior Kenzie Melko and Capital junior Leondre Rogers were second and third team captains respectively.
