Gathering for one of their own

A little over 200 spaghetti dinners were served and around $2,000 was raised over the weekend at the benefit for Mandy Spencer held at the First Church of God Christian Ministry building. Spencer, pictured bottom left with best friend Beth Litchfield, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in December and has been unable to work. In addition to a dessert walk held at the fund raiser, music was provided by Albert Stephens, Larry Pyles and Cecil “Keith” Sargent and the group Once Blue, pictured at top. Spencer continues to improve and is working to get her life back with the help of physical therapy and support from family and friends.
