Remembering the roots of the American Revolution at Battle Days

Lt. Col. Rusty McGuire, with the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, speaks at this Sunday’s wreath laying ceremony to close Battle Days. McGuire spoke about the history of the brigade and its roots to those who fought at the Battle of Point Pleasant, Oct. 10, 1774. The 116th IBCT traces those roots to the Virginia Militia and continues on today, preparing to return once again to the Middle East. The Staunton, Va.-based 116th IBCT also once again provided the color guard at “The Magazine” at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park. More on the wreath ceremony in today’s edition and online at www.mydailyregister.com and the Point Pleasant Register’s Facebook page.
