Churches celebrate the Easter story


Christians around the world are celebrating Easter this weekend, but last weekend, a parade dedicated to the holiday took place in downtown Point Pleasant. The third annual Easter Parade, hosted by Mason County Teens for Life, featured themed floats created by area churches which told the Easter story. Winners included: First place, “Peter Walks On Water” by Creston UM Church of Leon; second place, “Jesus Nailed to the Cross” by Pleasant View Church of Gallipolis Ferry; third place, “John Baptizing Jesus” by Grace Baptist Church of Point Pleasant. Also chosen were the People’s Choice Awards going to “The Miracles Of Jesus” by LifeSpring Church of Point Pleasant and “The Money Changers” by Harvey Chapel Church of Leon.
