POINT PLEASANT — Each year the Mason County Fair picks an individual or organization to whom to dedicate the fair, with this year’s honor going to Pleasant Valley Hospital.

On Monday night, members of the Mason County Fair Board and fair officers presented the award to representatives of PVH and its board of directors.

Accepting the award for PVH was CEO Glen Washington, who was accompanied to the fair by PVH representatives Mario Liberatore, Tracy Call, Pete Allinder and PVH CFO Zach Kearns.

PVH was chosen for its continued support of the fair, including purchasing booth space each year in the commercial building and being a major buyer during the annual junior fair livestock sale. Also, since becoming CEO, Washington has personally purchased animals from the sale for his own farm in the last few years.

Also included during the fair dedication ceremony, members of the fair board and fair officers gave special recognition to groundskeeper Wayne See. He was given a plaque and recognized for his work and dedication to the fair and fairgrounds.

More photos from this week at the fair appear inside Thursday’s edition on page 4 and online at www.mydailyregister.com.
